With fresh cranberry juice, orange liqueur and champagne, this cranberry mimosa is the perfect drink to start the holidays.

glass of mimosa with cranberry juice

I'm all about holiday cocktails - from a chocolate peppermint martini to an apple cider cocktail to a pumpkin martini.

But we want to start off the day right. And that's where this cranberry mimosa comes into play.

The colors alone just put you in the holiday spirit, but when you taste the cranberries and get a whiff of the fresh rosemary with every sip, you'll quickly realize you'll be having more than one.

It doesn't hurt that it just takes a few minutes to whip up. Cheers to the holidays!

    Recipe Ingredients

    • Cranberry juice - I like fresh juice where you really get the tartness.
    • Orange liqueur - my go-to is Grand Marnier.
    • Champagne - prosecco works in a pinch as well.
    • Fresh cranberries and rosemary - adds some freshness and aroma.

    Making for a Crowd

Depending on the size of your champagne glasses, you can get anywhere from 8-12 servings with one bottle of champagne.

However, never premix in a pitcher as you mess with the natural carbonation of the champagne. Just make individually.

    FAQs

    What is a Mimosa?

It is a cocktail composed of champagne and chilled citrus juice. It is usually served at brunch or parties.

    Best Champagne?

The best champagne for this cranberry mimosa isn't actually champagne. I usually go with Cava which is from Spain or Prosecco which is Italian. Both are cheaper and work great.

    Best Liqueur?

I go with Grand Marnier but triple sec works well too.

    Pro Tips/Recipe Notes

    • If you don't like a strong mimosa, pour the cranberry juice halfway instead of a third in the glass.
    • Make sure your cranberry juice and champagne is chilled.
    • If you want the drink a little sweeter, just stir in a bit of honey.
    • Add some sparkling sugar for garnish on the glass rims.
