With pumpkin liqueur, Baileys and vodka, this pumpkin martini tastes like pumpkin pie in cocktail-form, making it a great fall drink.
I'm all about fall-themed cocktails - from an apple cider Moscow Mule to a salted caramel martini to an apple cider cocktail to an apple mojito to a pear martini.
But up until today I had never had a pumpkin flavored drink. I'm a big fan of dessert cocktails that are on the sweeter side and this one is no different. It is smooth and creamy with hints of warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg.
While there are plenty of pumpkin liqueurs out there, after trying a few different brands, I'm a fan of Mr Stacks. It gives you just the right amount of spice, but is also creamy, making it great for this martini. And if you want another pumpkin-flavored cocktail, try this pumpkin punch.
Why This Cocktail Works
- It is a perfect cocktail in the fall if you're craving that pumpkin flavor.
- By adding Baileys, it complements the pumpkin liqueur.
- It can be prepared in under 5 minutes and it works as a dessert on its own or a dessert cocktail. And if you are as much of a dessert martini fan as me, you have other options like a Baileys espresso martini, white chocolate martini or a Godiva chocolate martini.

Ingredient Notes
- Pumpkin liqueur - Captures the warm and comforting flavors associated with pumpkin pie and fall spices. Mr Stacks is my go-to.
- Irish cream - I always have Baileys but a store-brand works just as well. You could also make your own.
- Vodka - You want to use quality vodka like Grey Goose or Belvedere. This just is used to up the booze a little bit.
- Vanilla extract - Adds a hint of vanilla flavor.
- Pumpkin pie spice - To enhance the pumpkin flavor, consider adding a pinch of pumpkin pie spice, which typically includes cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves. Alternatively, you can use individual spices to customize the blend.

With the liqueur used are already sweet, if you want additional sweetness, add maple syrup ½ oz at a time until you like it.
Most grocery stores carry pumpkin pie spice these days, but you can always make your own. Check out Taste of Home’s recipe.
In a small bowl, whisk together 4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 2 teaspoon ground ginger, 1 teaspoon ground cloves and ½ teaspoon ground nutmeg.
I know not everyone has cocktail shakers. Just add your ingredients for the martini to a mug with some ice, screw the lid on tightly and start shaking.
