    Frequently Asked Questions

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read my disclosure.

As my blog has started to grow, I've been getting more and more questions so I figured I'd try to answer the most common ones here. If I didn't answer your question, feel free to contact me here.

    Can I Substitute an Ingredient?

I know some of my recipes include quite a few ingredients although I in general try to keep it simple.

If there is a good substitute, I will list it in the notes. However if I don't mention one and you decide to use a different ingredient, I can't speak to how it might change the dish.

For example, I don't know how gluten-free flour will work in place for all-purpose flour.

What is the Best Way to Store Leftovers?

Again, I'll mention in the notes how it is best to store. In general a recipe will last 2-3 days in the fridge and 2-3 months in the freezer. However I am not a food safety expert.

The optimal shelf life is based on good judgment and what you are comfortable with.

Can I Use a Slow Cooker or Instant Pot for this Recipe?

In general, slow cooker and Instant Pot recipes are interchangeable. I will list in the notes, the cooking times.

However if I don't mention cooking with either appliance, I can't speak to how a recipe would turn out as I haven't tested it.

    Are Your Recipes Diet Friendly?

Some are and some aren't. I try to find the balance of eating food I really enjoy but know isn't the best for you, but also eat nutritious meals as well. Make no mistake, I love a good salad but who can say know to some pizza?

I Tried the Recipe and It Didn't Turn Out. What Did I Do Wrong?

Cooking and baking is never perfect. I made mistakes all the time.

I would recommend double checking the recipe and looking at the ingredients and instructions. Sometime you skip an ingredient or use the wrong one like baking soda instead of baking powder.

However if that wasn't the case, just feel free to reach out and I'll do my best to figure out what the issue is.

How Do I Sign Up for Email Updates?

You can sign up here and get 25 of my most popular recipes for free. I send out monthly newsletters that highlights that month's recipes and what is coming up.

    Do You Blog Full-Time?

I do not. I started this blog as a way to keep track of all my recipes and share projects I've made. It has steadily grown but I still have a full-time job. Maybe one day it will become full-time!

    Do You Have a Cookbook?

I do not at the moment but would love to create one some day. If you have ideas on what would work, let me know!
