With chocolate liqueur, Creme de Cacao, half-and-half and peppermint schnapps, this chocolate peppermint martini is the perfect drink to celebrate the holidays.

I don't know about you, but I love the flavor of peppermint - from chocolate peppermint blossoms to peppermint ice cream, the possibilities are limitless.
When did martinis make a comeback? My dad actually claims to have started it back in the 90s but all I know is I love martinis, especially a good chocolate martini.
We were recently in Savannah and visited Lulu's Chocolate Bar where I had a delicious chocolate martini. So with Christmas around the corner, I was inspired to put a holiday twist on it with this martini.
There is just the right amount of peppermint where that complements the creamy chocolate. I mean I like the combination so much I've made dark chocolate peppermint pretzel bark. These honestly make the perfect holiday dessert, but be careful as you could find yourself drinking multiple martinis!

Recipe Ingredients
- Chocolate liqueur - Godiva is my go-to.
- Creme de Cacao - adds additional chocolate flavor.
- Half-and-half - can also use milk or cream.
- Peppermint Schnapps - where the peppermint flavor comes from
- Peppermints - dip the martini glass in it or sprinkle some over top.
- Sprinkle of shaved chocolate - can never have enough chocolate.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Crush some peppermints. (You can skip this step)
- Mix chocolate liqueur, the Creme de Cacao, milk or half-and-half, peppermint schnapps and some ice cubes in martini shaker. You can add 1 tablespoon of homemade hot chocolate mix for extra chocolate flavor. Shake for 20 seconds.
- Dip martini in chocolate syrup. (You can skip this step)
- Dip martini in crushed peppermint. (You can skip this step)
- Strain the martini mixture into a chilled martini glass. Garnish with shaved chocolate.
What Chocolate Liqueur Do You Use?
To me, Godiva's chocolate liqueur is the only way to go, but you can use another brand just fine.
How to Make a Martini without a Cocktail Shaker
I know not everyone has cocktail shakers. Just add your ingredients for the martini to a mug with some ice, screw the lid on tightly and start shaking.
Pro Tips/Recipe Notes
- Place the martini glass in the freezer for an hour so it keeps your martini chilled.
- You can substitute half-and-half with heavy cream or whole milk.
- If you love peppermint, increase it by ½ oz or more. Just be careful as peppermint is a very strong flavor.
