Beat 5 egg yolks and 1/2 cup sugar until combined

Whisk together 2 cups milk, 1 cup heavy cream, 1/2 tsp nutmeg, 1/4 tsp cinnamon, 1/8 salt & bring to simmer

Slowly add 1/2 of the hot milk mixture to eggs and whisk to temper

Slowly pour tempered eggs back into hot milk mixture & whisk

Heat to 160°F so it is safe to drink

Whisk in 1 tsp vanilla extract

Pour eggnog in a pitcher

Place in fridge until cold

Pour in glass to serve
