With a homemade raspberry syrup, vodka, triple sec and lemon juice, this raspberry martini bursts with berry flavor and is a lovely vibrant red, making it perfect for the holidays or any party.
When it comes to cocktails, the first thing that comes to mind for me are martinis - from a limoncello martini to a white chocolate martini to a blood orange martini to a pear martini.
I think it's just the shape of the glass which just screams fancy to me. But I also love that you can use so many different ingredients. You can have dessert martinis with chocolate or fruit martinis like this one.
By making a raspberry syrup, you get a ton of raspberry flavor, which leads to both a slightly tart and sweet cocktail.
The redish/pink color makes this raspberry martini the perfect date night cocktail that everyone will love. You can also try a passion fruit martini.

Ingredient Notes
- Raspberries - I like to make fresh raspberry syrup which just uses raspberries, sugar and water.
- Sugar - I use granulated sugar for the syrup, but brown sugar can be used in a pinch.
- Vodka - use quality vodka like Grey Goose or Belvedere.
- Triple sec - an orange liquor that complements the berry flavor.
- Lemon - use fresh lemon juice as the acid offsets some of the sweetness.

Make the syrup by heating the raspberries, sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until the sugar dissolves. Strain through a mesh strainer to remove the seeds.
Combine the ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake for 20 seconds. Strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with some fresh raspberries.
FAQs
Simple syrup is one part sugar and one part water which is heated to allow the sugar to dissolve. You can add other flavors like these fresh raspberries.
It creates a smooth and liquid sweetener which is perfect for cocktails.
To me, simple syrup is super easy to make but you can find some at the store or online.
I know not everyone has cocktail shakers. Just add your ingredients for the martini to a mug with some ice, screw the lid on tightly and start shaking.
Pro Tips/Recipe Notes
- Place the martini glass in the freezer for an hour so it keeps your martini chilled.
- Fresh raspberries are best, but you can use frozen as well.
- Don't skip straining the syrup or you will have lots of seeds in the drink.
- You will probably have some leftover raspberry syrup, so you can just store in the fridge for 2-3 weeks.
- If you want even more raspberry flavor, use Chambord, which is a black raspberry flavor liqueur.
