Ingredient Notes
- Peaches - you want to use fresh peaches if possible. Peel and slice them.
- Light rum - known for its underlying profile of sweet, toasted sugar, I like to use light rum for this cocktail.
- Limes - adds acidity and brightness to the cocktail.
- Maple syrup - gives an underlying sweetness.
Ingredient Swaps
As with any cocktail, you can mix up some of the ingredients. Some variations include:
- Fresh peaches are best, but you can use canned peaches in a pinch.
- While you can use light rum, you can use your favorite type of rum.
- Lime juice is more traditional for a daiquiri, but lemon juice works too.
- I'm a fan of maple syrup for sweetness in cocktails, but you can make your own simple syrup.

FAQs
There are a few ways to tell that a peach is ripe. The best way is if you see shriveled skin around the stem, that means it is ripe.
The next best way is by giving a peach a gentle, yet firm squeeze with your fingers. If there’s some give, it means the fruit is almost ripe. Be careful not to bruise though.
Depending on the size of the peaches, you need 3-4 to get 2 cups of sliced peaches.
If you don't have fresh peaches, canned peaches or even frozen peaches will work too.
Daiquiris are typically a frozen drink so it's not best suited to make ahead. When the ice melts, it becomes watery so just best to make right beforehand.
