This Godiva chocolate martini is the perfect dessert cocktail for chocolate lovers, making it great for any occasion.
I love martinis - but I especially love dessert martinis - from a pumpkin martini to a chocolate peppermint martini to a Baileys chocolate martini to a gin espresso martini to a salted caramel martini to a gingerbread martini to a Baileys espresso martini.
But the original dessert martini is the chocolate martini. And this one is hard to top.
With Godiva Chocolate Liqueur, heavy cream, Creme de Cacao, vodka and vanilla extract, this drink is both creamy and rich in chocolate flavor.
It is one of those drinks where you are questioning if there is alcohol in it. So if you are having a party or just craving a decadent cocktail, this Godiva chocolate martini should be at the top of your list.

Ingredient Notes
- Godiva Chocolate Liqueur - it is a Godiva martini for a reason. You can add 1 tablespoon of homemade hot chocolate mix for extra chocolate flavor. It is soft and creamy with a rich, silky finish.
- Heavy cream - mellows out the martini but also adds creaminess. You can also use milk or half-and-half.
- Creme de Cacao - adds a strong milk chocolate flavor with vanilla notes.
- Vodka - you want to use quality vodka like Grey Goose or Belvedere. This just is used to up the booze a little bit.
- Vanilla extract - adds a hint of vanilla flavor.
- Chocolate - can shave it and add to rim or on top.

FAQs
I mentioned it above, but to me, Godiva's chocolate liqueur is the only way to go.
However other options include Mozart Chocolate Cream, Knight Gabriello Dark Chocolate Cream and Dorda Double Chocolate Liqueur.
No. Creme de Cacao is a sweet chocolate liqueur scented with a hint of vanilla.
Godiva Chocolate Liqueur contains both chocolate and cream, which makes it more syrupy.
I know not everyone has cocktail shakers. Just add your ingredients for the martini to a mug with some ice, screw the lid on tightly and start shaking.
Pro Tips/Recipe Notes
- Place the martini glass in the freezer for an hour so it keeps your martini chilled.
- You can substitute heavy cream with half-and-half or whole milk.
- If you want even more vanilla flavor, increase the vanilla extract to ½ tsp.
