Why have just a traditional chocolate martini, when you can keep it up a notch with some Baileys which makes this dessert in a glass.
While this Baileys chocolate martini is perfect for a Christmas party, you really can enjoy it any time of year or perhaps New Year's Eve which is just around the corner! After having one of these, you may never go back to another martini as it's really the best chocolate martini recipe out there.
For me, martinis have an interesting story and they revolve around my dad. Back in the 90s, according to him, he brought back the martini craze. He started ordering Cosmopolitans all of the time. The funny thing is, you wouldn't catch him ordering a Cosmo ever these days. But while he's over his Cosmos, it did hook him on old school martinis - specifically with Bombay Sapphire. And while he may not have brought back the martini, there was definitely a cocktail renaissance in 90s.
So while I didn't inherit his love of gin, I did discover this Baileys chocolate martini a few years ago when trying to find a good Christmas party drink. Be careful though, these are dangerous! They taste so good you don't realize you are drinking 100% alcohol.

What If I Don't Have Baileys?
Not to worry. You can make your own. Just combine 1 cup heavy cream, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, 1 ⅔ cup Irish whiskey, 3 tablespoon chocolate syrup, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract and 1 teaspoon instant coffee. Throw everything in the blender and blend until smooth. You Can then store in the fridge for 2 months. I actually found the recipe on As Easy As Apple Pie and it's delicious!
